Traditional functions delivered in nontraditional ways

There are 3 steps to completing an account opening and funding your account at Hoovest:

Step 1: Online onboarding form

We recommend gathering the following information before completing the application.


  1. Identification – Government photo ID (need one of the following)
    1. Drivers licence (picture of front and back)
    2. Passport information page
    3. Healthcare card
    4. Provincial ID card
  2. Address confirmation (need one of the following if Government ID was not checked in person)
    1. Utility bill ( BC Hydro, Telus etc)
    2. Cell phone bill
    3. Investment statement, bank statement, or credit card statement
  3. Void cheque or direct deposit form
    1. A photo of a void cheque
    2. A direct deposit or void cheque form downloaded from you bank

Personal information you may not know or have normally available

  1. SIN Number
  2. Spouse’s SIN Number
  3. Tax ID’s of other countries you are a tax resident of

Now that you have collected the necessary documents and information, please click the button below.

Step 2: Wait for account approval

Account approval usually only takes a day! In the meantime, reach out to use over email by emailing us at [email protected], message us on the chat window on the lower right of your screen, or give us a call at 604-229-2788

Step 3: Fund your account

Once your account is approved, a HoovestFI representative will be in touch with next steps on funding your account. If you are transferring a registered or non-registered account from a different institution, please gather a copy of the statement of the account you wish to transfer. It is best if the statement is less than 3 months old, and is a complete list of all current assets in the account
